Design Stage ICT Support
We take responsibility for all aspects of the ICT design required by DfE Output Specification. Our designers will become effective members of your multi-disciplinary design team, providing input and guidance on both the educational and technical aspects of the ICT infrastructure, heat and power requirements, servers, devices and specialist AV.
WiFi Heat Mapping
Taking into account the building's design, construction materials and general arrangement, we analyse the environment to ensure that the WiFi design uses the optimal number of WiFi access points. We ensure seamless signal coverage to meet the clients requirements, and provide post-installation surveys to verify the as-built signal strength.
Teacher Walls
We work with the school to develop their optimal layout for the teacher wall, taking into account their requirements for small power and data, teacher desk location, and their plans for decanting existing or purchasing new classroom AV equipment. Working with the design team we ensure that there are no clashes between these requirements and lighting rafts, air handling units and the like.
Server and Hub Room Design
Our engineers ensure that server and hub rooms are designed in accordance with the DfE Output Specification. We advise on server room layouts and cabinet size requirements, design the data cabinet layouts, and model power requirements and heat outputs to provide guidance to the M&E team. Where space is at a premium we come up with innovative solutions to minimise the footprint whilst maximising the performance.
Project Planning and Installation
Our Prince 2 trained project managers work with your planners to develop an integrated construction program. They provide guidance on interfaces with other trades, create a clear and detailed responsibilities matrix and ensure the site team have confidence that the project will be delivered on time. Our CSCS/SSSTS certified install teams are used to working in high pressure, complex construction environments. They always work flexibly and safely, and bring a can do attitude along with their PPE gear.
Handover and Training
Our teams are used to providing the user support and training that schools need to hit the ground running when the building opens. We provide a comprehensive suite of O&M documentation and give training sessions that are recorded. We know it's easy to forget things when there's so much going on and our customer support team is always ready to help.
Procurement
We have relationships with all of the key vendors in the schools market. Our designers listen to the school's needs and offer guidance how to achieve these in line with the DfE Output Specification. As a volume player in the Edtech marketplace we get the best pricing to ensure that your bids are as competitive as possible.
